MLCommons disclosed the establishment of a fresh MLPerf Client task force. Similar to MLCommons’ previous work on data center machine learning benchmarks, the primary objective of the new group is to generate machine learning standards for client systems such as desktops, laptops, and workstations using Microsoft Windows and other operating systems. Key participants in the initial MLPerf Client task force include representatives from AMD, Arm, ASUSTeK, Dell Technologies, Intel, Lenovo, Microsoft, NVIDIA, and Qualcomm Technologies, Inc., among others. The first standard will focus on a large language model, specifically, the Llama 2 LLM. 

The U.S. National Science Foundation and collaborating agencies launched the National Artificial Intelligence Research Resource (NAIRR) pilot, a first step towards achieving the goal of developing a shared research infrastructure to power responsible AI discovery and innovation. Partnering with ten other federal agencies as well as 25 private sector, nonprofit, and philanthropic organizations, the NAIRR pilot will provide access to advanced computing, datasets, models, software, training, and user support to U.S.-based researchers and educators. The pilot is a proof of concept to drive the level of investment needed to realize the full NAIRR vision.

Oracle announced the general availability of the Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) Generative AI service, along with other offerings that make it easier for enterprises to take advantage of the latest advancements in generative AI. OCI Generative AI service is a fully managed service that integrates large language models (LLMs) from Cohere and Meta Llama 2. OCI Generative AI service now includes multilingual capabilities that support over 100 languages, an improved GPU cluster management experience, and flexible fine-tuning options. Customers can use OCI Generative AI service in the Oracle Cloud and on-premises via OCI Dedicated Region.

Chronosphere announced that it acquired Calyptia, a provider of observability pipeline solutions. Chronosphere will integrate Calyptia’s core technology, which provides log transformation and optimization capabilities, into the company’s cloud-native observability platform. Calyptia’s observability pipeline product is built on top of Fluent Bit. The addition of this pipeline to Chronosphere’s platform enables the routing, transformation, and optimization of log data at scale.

Honeywell launched Advance Control for Buildings, a new building control platform. Designed to automate building management and provide the foundation for a building’s energy efficiency strategy, Advance Control combines the latest technologies with decades of domain expertise. Automation and machine learning feature built-in cybersecurity and technology to deliver faster network speeds that uses existing wiring.

KnoaSoftware announced that its SAP Solution Extension, SAP User Experience Management (SAP UEM) by Knoa, available on the SAP Store, will be sold by SAP to complement the SAP Signavio portfolio. Knoa’s task mining solution for SAP applications complements SAP Signavio Process Intelligence for process mining by providing unique insights into process execution and enabling end-to-end process visibility.

New Relic announced New Relic Pathpoint, a business observability solution designed to bridge the data gap between IT and real-world business outcomes. Pathpoint goes beyond conventional monitoring to provide users with real-time financial insights into every user touchpoint by modeling system-level telemetry from APM 360 in direct correlation to user-impacting business stages. Pathpoint helps engineering and IT teams drive operational efficiency, analyze the financial impact of issues, and align service performance to business outcomes.

OpenText announced the release of its Cloud Editions 24.1 and, with it, its latest OpenText Aviator innovations. OpenText Aviatorpowers multiple AI use cases by enabling secure information management and governance across knowledge bases without customers having to move their data. According to the company, the new enhancements and integrations available in Cloud Editions 24.1 represent an evolution of the strategic approach to how work can be reimagined with the application of AI to business workflows.

Pegasystems announced Pega GenAI Knowledge Buddy, an enterprise-grade, generative AI-powered assistant that will quickly and easily enable customers and employees to get specific answers synthesized by generative AI from content scattered across enterprise knowledge bases. Pega GenAI Knowledge Buddy uniquely combines an innovative AI architecture with security features so organizations can transform how users access knowledge while adhering to high standards of trust and responsibility.

Pricefx announced it will be incorporating new Generative AI (GenAI) capabilities in its pricing platform in 2024. The new set of GenAI capabilities will bring conversational experiences to pricing professionals, creating the ultimate simplification of user interactions on the Pricefx platform. These new GenAI features extend the AI technology capabilities already available on the Pricefx platform.

Revyz announced the general availability of Revyz Data Manager for Confluence Cloud in the Atlassian Marketplace. This data management solution empowers Confluence administrators to take control of their critical knowledge base. Key features of Revyz Data Manager for Confluence Cloud include automated backups, restore with confidence, as well as enterprise-grade security with encrypted backups, access controls, and audit logs to meet strict compliance requirements.

SingleStore announced new capabilities for the real-time data platform. With its latest release, dubbed SingleStore Pro Max, the company announced features like indexed vector search, an on-demand compute service for GPUs/ CPUs, and a new free shared tier, among several other new products. Together, these capabilities shrink development cycles while providing the performance and scale that customers need for building applications.

SnapLogic unveiled GenAI Builder, a no-code generative AI application development product for enterprise applications and services. GenAI Builder leverages conversational AI to transform and simplify customer, employee, and partner digital experiences. Specifically, the solution allows organizations to integrate AI with enterprise data. This applies to multiple types of data, whether in the cloud or on-prem, and can be applied to critical use cases from customer support automation, data analysis and reporting, contract and document review, and personalized marketing.

Voltron Data announced that it has acquired Claypot AI, a real-time AI platform startup. Voltron Data processes large batch workloads on GPUs today and will be incorporating Claypot AI’s real-time capabilities on GPU. By acquiring Claypot AI, Voltron Data can enable real-time analytics, feature engineering, and MLOps capabilities powered by Theseus, as well as open-source products Apache Arrow, Ibis, and Substrait.
